Materials:
• crochet hook – 2.5 mm• yarn – e.g. YarnArt Jeans:
• color 1: white or red (if you want to make Papa Smurf)
• color 2: blue
• black thread,
• safety eyes (I used 6 mm) and a piece of white felt
(or you can crochet eyes using white yarn),
• stuff,
• tapestry needle,
• scissors,
• pins.
Legs, body and head are made in one piece bottom-up, without sewing.
LEG (VERSION 1 – MORE DIFFICULT)
PART 1 (legs / trousers) on YouTube:
Color 1 – white or red yarn
Start with ch 8
Rnd 1: sc in 2nd chain from the hook and work around foundation chain, sc in next 4 st, 1 hdc in next st, 5 dc in last st, continue working down the opposite side of the foundation chain: 1 hdc in next st, sc in next 5 st, sl st (17 + sl st)
Rnd 2: 6 sc, 5 inc, 6 sc, sl st [22 + sl st]
Rnd 3: 21 sc, dec (reduce sc and sl st to one sc) in BLO [22]
Rnd 4: 6 sc, (1 sc, inc) x 5, 6 sc [27]. Don’t finish with sl st, continue crocheting in a round
Rnd 5: 6 sc, (2 sc, inc) x 5, 6 sc [32]
Rnd 6: 32 sc [32]
Rnd 7: dec, 4 sl st, (2 sc, dec) x 5, 4 sl st, dec [25]
Rnd 8: 5 sl st, (1 sc, dec) x 5, 5 sl st [20]
Rnd 9: 5 sl st, dec x 5, 5 sl st [15]
The marker is attached to the back side of shoe – the opposite side is the front side of shoe. You can also put the plastic insole – I cut it out from a package of baby bottle. It makes the sole more stiff.
Rnd 10: 3 sl st, (1 sc, dec) x 3, 3 sl st [12]
Rnd 11-18: 12 sc [12]
Finish the first leg and cut the yarn. Now crochet the same way 2nd leg and don’t cut the yarn, because we will join both legs.
Rnd 19: 1 sc (2nd leg), 4 ch (bridge), 12 sc (1st leg), 4 sc (bridge), 11 sc (2nd leg up to the marker) [32]
Rnd 20-21: 32 sc [32]
Rnd 22: 1 sc, (1 sc, inc) x 2, 12 sc, (1 sc, inc) x 2, 11 sc [36]
Rnd 23-25: 36 sc [36]
Rnd 26: 36 sc in FLO, sl st [36, don’t count sl st].
In BLO there will be blue yarn – beginning of the body.
LEG (VERSION 2 – EASY)
Rnd 1: 6 sc in a magic ring [6]Rnd 2: 6 inc [12]
Rnd 3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 [18]
Rnd 4: (2 sc, inc) x 6 [24]
Rnd 5-7: 24 sc [24]
Rnd 8: (1 sc, dec) x 4, 12 sc [20]
Rnd 9: (1 sc, dec) x 3, 11 sc [17]
Rnd 10: (1 sc, dec) x 2, 11 sc [15]
Rnd 11: (1 sc, dec) x 3, 6 sc [12]
Rnd 12-18: 12 sc [12]
Finish the first leg and cut the yarn. Now crochet the same way 2nd leg and don’t cut the yarn, because we will join both legs. In easy version of legs joining legs is similar to version 1.
BODY
PART 2 (body & head) on YouTube:Color 2 – blue yarn
Rnd 1: 36 sc in BLO [36]
I reset the numeration because I change yarn color and it would be easier to count the rounds.
Link two ends of yarn color 1 and 2 to secure it.
Rnd 2-3: 36 sc (under both loops) [36]
Rnd 4: (7 sc, dec) x 4 [32]
Rnd 5: 32 sc [32]
Rnd 6: (6 sc, dec) x 4 [28]
Rnd 7: 28 sc [28]
Rnd 8: (5 sc, dec) x 4 [24]
Rnd 9: 24 sc [24]
Rnd 10: (4 sc, dec) x 4 [20]
Rnd 11: 20 sc [20]
Start stuffing the body.
Rnd 12: (3 sc, dec) x 4 [16]
Rnd 13: (2 sc, dec) x 4 [12]
Rnd 14: 12 sc [12] – it is a Smurf’s neck
HEAD
Rnd 1: (1 sc, inc) x 6 [18]You can mark the 1st round of head – it’s easier to count the rounds.
Rnd 2: (2 sc, inc) x 6 [24]
Rnd 3: (3 sc, inc) x 6 [30]
Rnd 4: (4 sc, inc) x 6 [36]
You can stabilize the neck using e.g. wire, plastic stick, crochet tuba or stuff it tightly – it’s up to you.
Rnd 5: (5 sc, inc) x 6 [42]
Rnd 6: (6 sc, inc) x 6 [48]
Rnd 7-12: 48 sc [48]
Rnd 13: (6 sc, dec) x 6 [42]
Rnd 14: (5 sc, dec) x 6 [36]
Rnd 15: (4 sc, dec) x 6 [30]
Rnd 16: (3 sc, dec) x 6 [24]
Rnd 17: (2 sc, dec) x 6 [18]
If you want, you can put safety eyes with a piece of white felt (or crochet the eyes later). I put it between rnd 10-11 of head and burnt the ends of eyes (inside the head) to secure them.
Rnd 18: (1 sc, dec) x 6 [12]
Rnd 19: 6 dec [6]
Stuff the head and fasten off (close the hole inserting the needle in FLO and hide the yarn).

Rnd 12: 36 sc [36]
Rnd 13: (3 sc, dec) x 4, 16 sc [32]
Rnd 14: 32 sc [32]
Rnd 15: (2 sc, dec) x 4, 16 sc [28]
Rnd 16: 28 sc [28]
Rnd 17: (2 sc, dec) x 4, 12 sc [24]
Rnd 18: 24 sc [24]
Rnd 19: (10 sc, dec) x 2 [22]
Rnd 20: 22 sc [22]
Rnd 21: (9 sc, dec) x 2 [20]
Rnd 22: 20 sc [20]

Rnd 24: 18 sc [18]
Rnd 25: (1 sc, dec) x 6 [12]
Rnd 26: 6 dec [6]
Fasten off, leave a tail for shaping the hat on Smurf’s head.
You can stuff hat lightly. First sew the ears and then sew the hat, because hat touches the ears. If you crochet Papa Smurf, remember to attach the beard first and then sew the hat, because Papa’s hair is beneath the hat.
(see PART 5 of my tutorial: sewing, beard & bonus:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6NWdMB8cfY0).
ARMS & FINGERS

Rnd 1: 2 sc, insert the hook on the opposite side of Smurf's hand and crochet sl st, sc in next 1 st [4]
Rnd 2: 4 sc [4]
Rnd 3: sl st through the centre stitch of round 2 (it could be the 2nd one)
Fasten off, leave a tail.
Crochet the 2nd finger – start from the 2nd stitch of the 1st finger

PART 5 (beard, crocheted eyes, sewing, gift box, bomb) on YouTube:
BEARD OF PAPA SMURF
White yarnFirstly – mark the beard using black thread and mark the smile of Papa Smurf (in the "smile line" we don’t attach the beard).
Then stick the beard between rounds.
The beard is also under the hat, so don’t sew the hat until beard is finished.
Cut the beard to adjust it to the face of Papa Smurf, embroider eyebrow.
(see: PART 5 of my tutorial, if you have a problem).
Optionally:
CROCHETED EYES
White yarn – 12 sc in a magic ring, sl st [12]Embroider the pupils with black thread.

OdpowiedzUsuńYou're welcome :-) Pattern for Smurfette will appear soon.
OdpowiedzUsuńMuchas gracias. Voy a intentar hacerlo (el Papá Pitufo) pero no sé bien qué representa "sl st, tch, mp". En otro momento miraré si lo descifro. Agradecida por su trabajo. Un besito.
OdpowiedzUsuńHi! sl st = slip stitch, tch = turning chain (1 chain in the end of the row before you turn the work). MP? Where is mp? Here is the link to Spanish-English crochet terms: https://oombawkadesigncrochet.com/2014/04/u-s-and-spanish-crochet-terms.html
