Eddie the Dragon - FREE PATTERN (English)

 

I present you pattern for Eddie the Dragon for personal use only. I crocheted it for my daughter.

Materials:

Himalaya Dolphin Baby (HDB), crochet hook 4 mm:
- red - 2 skeins
- blue - 1 skein
- beige - for the belly
Yarn Art Jeans - white for the eyes, crochet hook 2.25 mm
stuffing
scissors
tapestry needle for sewing
yarn for sewing

Bottom of the body


Body - you see the belly


After crocheting rnd 16 change the place of the marker - along the back/spine (symmetrically).
Keep the marker straight (make shift stitches if it is needed).

Rnd 17: the back is flat, the belly is in the front. Now I decrease the front part to make the belly smaller.

Add stuffing.
Rnd 24: (13, dec) x 2 [28]

Fasten off, sew the body to the head, add stuffing to the neck as you sew.

FINGER

blue HDB 
Crochet 3 fingers for each leg and 4 fingers for each arm
Rnd 1:  5 sc in magic ring [5]
Rnds 2-5: 5 sc

 
For LEG: Make 2 fingers, cut the yarn and when you crochet 3rd finger, don't cut the yarn (you will join fingers to the leg).
For ARM: Make 3 fingers, cut the yarn and when you crochet 4th finger, don't cut the yarn (you will join fingers to the arm).




Join fingers to the arm/leg

Insert the hook through the stitches (both edges) of each finger (flat the finger and make 2 sc on each finger) and the stitches of leg (flat the leg and insert the hook through 2 stitches of each finger and stitches of the arm/leg).





Join the arms and legs to the body:
 

WING (x2)

blue HDB
Don't stuff the parts and the wings.

Make 3 parts:
Part 1:
Rnd 1: 5 sc in magic ring
Rnds 2-6: 5 sc

Part 2:
Rnd 1: 5 sc in magic ring
Rnds 2-7: 5 sc

Part 3:
Rnd 1: 5 sc in magic ring
Rnds 2-6: 5 sc
Don't cut the yarn. We'll join three parts.

Join three parts:
3 sc (part 3), 3 sc (part 2), 3 sc (part 1), ch 4,
then crochet on the opposite side:
3 sc on each part.
You have 22 sts in the end of the joining round (rnd 1)

Fasten off, close the hole, inserting the hook through front loop only (FLO) of each 8 sts.

Crochet around the hole made with ch 4:
Rnd 1: 6 sc (crochet 4 sc along the ch 4 and 2 sc in the corners).
Rnds 2-3: 6 sc
Rnd 4: 6 sl st

EYE (x2)

YarnArt Jeans, white, crochet hook 2.25 mm

Attach the face parts (eyes, crest) regarding symmetry line (black thread int he photo below).
 


Embroider the nostrils with blue yarn (make a few stitches).

Tail tip

Tutorial for the tail tip is the same as for the leaf of my crochet wreath (below).

It is made like a leaf (bigger version) from the tutorial, without the pedicle:
 

Ch 2 and work in 2nd stitch from the hook:
2 hdc, 2 dc, 2 tr, ch 1, sl st inserting the hook through previous 1 tr, 2 tr, 2 dc, 2 hdc, sl st (to join), Fasten off.
